Graphic-assisted expert system for power system black restart

Power system breakdown poses problems for power system planners and operators. The authors present an expert system which can assist the operators during system blackout, with an emphasis on the practical aspects of the problem. The structure and rules used in the expert system to aid the operators in making correct decisions are discussed. The authors also describe user friendly computer colour graphic software that has been developed in conjunction with the expert system. which allows the operator to obtain instant information about line connection and power flows at any location
