Abstract :
This paper suggests a novel H-plane right-angled corner with a dielectric circular post properly placed in its square elbow region, and successfully designs an X-band one with good properties based on an H-plane planar circuit segment substitution approach. As a result, a very wide bandwidth of about 29 percent is realized for low return loss better than 40 dB. Finally, the validities of the design concept and procedures are confirmed by em-simulations (HFSS) and experiments.
