Abstract :
A new cost function of blind equalization for QAM signals is proposed. Under the condition that the in-phase source signal and the quadrature source signal are statistically independent to each other, a simple equalization algorithm using this cost function can simultaneously complete the channel equalization and phase recovery for QAM signals. The simulation results show the algorithm has the similar channel equalization effect as a CMA algorithm and at the same time recovers the phase error that CMA is unable to recover
