  • Abstract
Instant and correct detection of a faulty cable section is necessary to minimize the power outage and repair time of the cable. A conventional fault section detection system exists, but this system has some limitations. It can be used only for identification of fault sections which are overhead line or power cable portions, and it is affected by high frequency noise. The present new fault section detection systems for a power cable using fiber optic technology which solves the problems with the conventional system. The detection systems use optical magnetic field sensors
