  • Abstract
Due to the important role that voltage regulators play in electric power system stability and the limited information about models and parameters representative of their dynamic behaviour, it has become necessary to establish a basic methodology to test these regulators in order to obtain a suitable model and parameters when large and small signals are applied. The authors propose a general test methodology. They also describes a computer procedure for parameter identification in transient response which combines least squares techniques with maximum likelihood methods. Examples of that procedure are provided
