Abstract :
A PFC converter employing minimum-voltage active-clamping (MVAC) technique is proposed. It can effectively reduce the loss caused by diode reverse recovery. The parasitic oscillation caused by the parasitic capacitance of the boost diode is eliminated. Both the main switch and the auxiliary switch can achieve zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) under wide operation range. In the MVAC PFC converter, the switches and the diode possess the minimum voltage stresses. One 1 kW PFC converter prototype is implemented.
