Abstract :
Based on arc physics of fluorescent lamp, this paper developed a simple whereas comparatively accurate equation between lamp current and lamp impedance at high operating frequency. The proposed model has the advantages of simple form, easy derivation of model parameters, and good agreement with lamp responses in a wide lamp power range. This model can also simulate the ignition characteristics of the lamp. It will be a powerful tool for the design of high frequency electronic ballast of fluorescent lamp, especially in the dimming applications. The model is implemented in software Saber using Mast language, the simulation results appear to be in good agreement with the experimental data.
