Abstract
We propose a design for transparent media switch used in MGCP VoIP deployment, which can support media stream traverse symmetric NAT. Our media switch can make endpoints and callagents both unaware of itself so the device can be deployed with the legacy equipments which can not support NAT traverse. Using port index technique, we make our prototype with code far less than ordinary callagent program, this also make our implement running more quickly and with smaller code footprint than ordinary callagent
