Abstract :
We compare eleven sum-of-sinusoids simulation models for generating a Rayleigh-fading envelope in this paper. We consider the correlation properties and level-crossing rates of the simulation models, as these properties influence the error rates of many communication systems. The paper concludes with the selection of the most suitable simulation models for use in flat fading and frequency selective fading channel simulators.
