Abstract :
A software approximation is proposed to separate the common-mode (CM) and differential-mode (DM) conducted emission for the power line EMI filter design of a switching mode power supply (SMPS). The computerized design environment bases on the lab view test and measurement system. Both the CM and DM noise can be separated using the software algorithm without the hardware implementation. The separation and the EMI filter designed results are compared with the conventional separated method. The filter designed results and experiment show that the proposed approximation can provide a user friendly and convincible approach for EMI countermeasure and EMC education.
