Abstract :
With the advent of high power broadband class AB transistors, it is now possible to design a UHF television transmitter with power outputs from 2 kW to 20 kW using modular power amplifier construction. The amplifier modules in the design are broadband (470-860 MHz) and do not require retuning when operated at any frequency in the above range. New types of stabilisation, protection and correction are necessary for these class AB amplifiers. The problems and methods of overcoming them are outlined
