Abstract :
This paper presents the application of partial discharge measurement to a new method of testing the state of power cable insulation. The authors present their experiences with this new method in order to compare the results obtained with those from classic insulation testing methods. As a result of numerous experiences, justified by the absence of theoretical models of partial discharge behaviour, the authors have conducted a statistical analysis of all available test results, in order to establish an interpretation of these phenomena
