Abstract
Describes the frame interline transfer (FIT) camera developed by Sony. The adoption of a hole accumulation diode (HAD) sensor and aluminium wire interconnection technology eliminated many of the deficiencies of tube based high definition cameras. The Hyper HAD contributes to the sensitivity increase, the signal to noise improvement and the smear characteristics. Six new integrated circuits were also developed to drive the CCD
