  • Abstract
    The introduction of a connection-oriented (CO) service to high speed LANs and MANs is the prerequisite for a high quality of service (QOS) as well as an easy, efficient and robust interworking with ATM. Both aspects are essential in the long term evolution of the public broadband network. The characteristics of such a service and their implications on resource management and interworking are discussed
