Abstract
The authors present the architecture and functions of high-speed multimedia backbone LAN (HMB-LAN) referring to a product named LX-7400. They apply a Call-by-Call dynamic channel allocation method to the HMB-LAN in order to manage heavy traffic and support broadband services. Since the HMB-LAN channels are released upon end-to-end disconnect, the HMB-LAN channel resources are efficiently utilized. Some examples of circuit switching services are also presented
