Abstract :
IPsec and TLS based VPN technologies are widely used in nowadays networks. But one can hardly find information about their performance, especially compared to each other. So when there was a speed and delay sensitive interconnection project, a direct performance comparison had to be performed. This article realizes a performance comparison of Open VPN and IPSec based VPN; we measure what throughput each protocol can provide on given hardware while using the same cipher and key length.
