Abstract :
This paper presents the INFOCLIMA project, which aims to study wireless transmissions in the Brazilian Amazon. The simulation results are useful for our initial research, showing that data transmissions over a long range wireless link in Amazonian climate adversely affects the network performance. Therefore, environmental monitoring projects should pay special attention to the probability of data loss; since, for this application, delay and throughput do not much affect the monitoring application.
