Abstract
The project PAL-plus was constituted in 1989 and it consists of broadcasters from Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the UK as well as the major European consumer electronics industry, namely the Grundig-group, Nokia, Philips and Thomson. The basic idea to work together on the enhancement of the PAL-system could be explained in the best manner by describing the European situation regarding the transmission of TV-signals
