Abstract :
The new urban area is the city to be developed, so solving the sustainable development of new urban area traffic is the important task of the current urban transportation in the case of lacking of information of the traffic situation. Therefore, this article explores the urban traffic composition, the background of formation and principles, and proposes the sustainable urban transport traffic development structure based on the TOD mode. That is rail transportation as the backbone, conventional public transit as the main body, slow line of traffic supplemented. Combined with the new urban area land use planning and spatial layout, proposes specific transport strategies for the sustainable development on the new urban areas, and provides a reliable way for the real public transportation oriented development (TOD).
