Abstract
Looks at Primary Image´s (then called Akebia) search for something to complement and expand upon its range of computer graphics products. The latest of these, AGE, was doing well as a low cost VME based animation system. There was, however a growing customer requirement for added performance and greater realism whilst keeping the price in the low to mid part of the CGI market. The name of the project set up to target this market was STRIDE. The author describes the various components of the final products and how they were selected
