Abstract
A modified printed inverted-F antenna design is proposed for application in wireless communication devices such as PCMCIA or USB WiMAX adapters and other compact terminals of the 3.5 GHz frequency band. The proposed approach compensates for the parasitic effects of electronic components and plastic casing closely placed to the antenna, and the mutual coupling effect between antennas in the devices with a MIMO or diversity capabilities. Further, the proposed method does not change the antenna wideband matching, peak gain and efficiency.
