Abstract
A new type of broadband printed antenna is proposed. The current distribution and input impedance are obtained by the method of moments with integral equations. Comparison with experimental results shows good agreement. The results indicate that the bandwidth of the new antenna is much larger than normal microstrip dipole fabricated in the same substrate. A bandwidth greater than 10% can also be obtained on thin substrates (h<0.01/spl lambda//sub 0/). The new antenna is low cost, simple, and easily integrated with MMIC.
