Abstract :
An algorithm for retrieving the near surface oceanic wind field using the pencil-beam conical scanning scatterometer was developed. The pencil-beam conical scanning scatterometer is one mode of the China spaceborne multi-mode microwave sensors. Our simulations show that for the cell at different azimuthal position, the retrieval accuracy is different for the same measurement deviation. Finally, a helicopter experiment for backscattering model development has been introduced and preliminary results have been given.
