Abstract :
Conventional adaptive antennas optimize the base band spreading signal; the cost function is the mean square error of the difference between the weighted spreading signals and a reference. The cost function does not utilize the merits of CDMA that spread spectrum technology can improve the signal SNR. The article presents a new cost function which optimizes the despreading signals of the base band element outputs, and is the mean square error of the difference between the despreading signal and a new reference signal. Computer simulations has been further carried out, and the results illustrate that the novel cost function can improve the system capacity.
