Abstract :
The advantage of using a plasma sheet as a reflector for EM waves is in obtaining an EM controlled fast steering beam. In many cases, however, the easiest way to generate a plasma sheet is to have a plasma gun and shooting into a vacuum chamber. The distribution of the plasma is then not a uniformly distributed sheet but a flame-like distribution. In this paper, a preliminary discussion is given of the reflections of EM waves from a flame-like plasma sheet (2D case). This may give some basic understanding for the design of this kind of reflector.
