Abstract :
Real-time is an important issue for the applicability of a modern turbo signal processing. In this paper, we propose a scheduling scheme to reduce the decoding delay for turbo equalization with serially concatenated turbo codes. Contrast to the Brannstrom´s scheduling scheme, which only a single SISO decoding unit is activated once at a time, the limitation is relaxed. Multiple SISO decoding units are allowed to be activated simultaneously in our scheme to reduce the decoding delay. Base on the monotonic increasing property of the EXIT chart of middle decoder, a reduced delay decoding path is determined. Simulation results show that our scheme is the fastest compared to all other schemes.
