Abstract :
The authors describe the application of artificial neural networks to the analysis of 2-D gels used in the 2-D electrophoretic technique for separating protein components of cells. The neural network detects differences between the two gels. Images are stored in a Delta Binary format and some pre-processing is performed. One of the two images is then subtracted from the other to find where they differ. The presentation of unseen images to the network is briefly described
