Abstract :
In this paper a reliability assessment technique for distribution system is proposed using fuzzy set theory (FST). At first a general idea about FST is introduced. Based on FST an approach for assessing the reliability of the whole system as well as the different load points has been developed. This approach depends mainly on the fault effect analysis and minimum cut set techniques. The uncertainties of the component availabilities is taken into consideration by applying FST on the identified minimum cut sets
