Abstract :
For the proposed antenna array, the element antenna with high gain, low profile, and switchable circular polarization is proposed. The usage of wedge optimizes the gain over elevation range of 30deg~55deg and keeps whole system low profile. The row-by-row array configuration has the potential of electrical scanning in elevation by series feed with phase shifter between them. Also, by adopting the fixed phase shifter and power divider, the antenna can do mechanical scanning. The proposed array with compensated gain of 28.1dBic, fairly good axial ratio, low profile and wide bandwidth is suitable for vehicle mounted satellite antenna system.
