Abstract
A new X-ray image acquisition technology has been introduced based on photo stimulable luminescence (PSL) called computed radiography (CR). A Philips CR system has been installed in the Diagnostic Radiology department at Leeds General Infirmary. As mammography is one of the most demanding radiological examinations in terms of image quality it was chosen as the focus of an investigation into digital radiography using the CR system
