Abstract
This paper describes blind channel estimation for MIMO systems where there are nonlinear distortions in the receiver. The usual source of nonlinearity at the receiver is the front-end amplifier. A recursive algorithm estimates and tracks the channel through unscented transformation. Bussgang´s theorem is used to model the in-band distortion comprising a bandpass, memoryless nonlinearity. Simulations demonstrate the excellent accuracy of the algorithm and its power in compensating the effects of distortion. A realistic nonlinearity is almost completely compensated, for small- to mid-values of SNR.
