Abstract
Aeronautical public correspondence (APC) is the generic name applied to communications systems for passengers flying in commercial aircraft. A number of different technology solutions may be applied to the APC requirement. These include satellite communications, HF radio and line-of-sight terrestrial radio. The author discusses some of the primary market requirements and their implications for the likely technological solutions and the structure of the supporting industries
