Mixed procedural and knowledge based methods in electromyography

EMG signal processing research has produced a wide range of methods which are relevant to different circumstances. These methods are not all compatible in their data requirements, ways of operating, languages used or in their data output formats. A great deal is to be gained in finding ways of using what each method has to offer in a sensible way which does not require a lot of attention by the operator. The authors have classified processing methods into procedural, knowledge based and mixed methods and described an approach to integrating groups of such methods as knowledge sources to a managing expert system based on blackboard architecture
