An approach that integrates the advantages of structured courseware, whereby student monitoring provides feedback to students and teachers, with free interaction lessonware, which may raise student motivation and lends itself to exploratory and self-guided activities, is discussed. The efforts of the Centre for Educational Technology in this direction are described
