Abstract :
This paper describes optimal disposition for land mobile direction finder using Longley-Rice propagation model which is predicting propagation losses for a deterministic propagation path whose 3-D terrain profile is specified. Its initial model is simulated and modified to minimize propagation error as a result of the field measurement. LOS and MTE algorithms are applied to choose candidate mountains in the disposition area and to choose the reqion where coverage to be calculated in the interesting area which is assigned by user respectively, and their results can be displayed in the 3-D digital terrain in order of the percentage coverage.
