The food industry has the same measurement requirements as any fast moving consumer goods industry with the added complication of naturally variable ingredients, perishable products and microbiological safety. This paper focusses on the measurement needs of the packaging operation, particularly the dosing of difficult, naturally variable ingredients and controlling the integrity of product and pack on high volume production lines
