Abstract :
The sine-cosine based array scanning method is modified to simulate integrated antennas above periodic substrates with FDTD. By means of periodic boundary conditions, the computational domain and the associated simulation cost can be significantly reduced. The excellent performance and accuracy of the method have been demonstrated through an example of a slot antenna over an EBG substrate.
