Abstract :
This presentation explains how matters have progressed since the publication of the technical specifications early in 1988, looks at the history of the development of 2.5 GHz MVDS in the United States, examines some of the technical features, and outlines what is likely to happen over the next few years. The channelling arrangement consists of 22 channels in the band 2500 MHz to 2686 MHz subdivided into two separate groups of interleaved channels. This provides a total of 11 PAL I TV channels per site. Each of the two groups can be used with or without a line frequency offset of 7.8125 kHz
