Abstract :
In this paper, time-varying and height-varying analyses of the coupled wave amplitude of wind data observed at Andenes (69/spl deg/N, 16/spl deg/) by the SOUSY VHF radar during the MAC-SNE campaign in summer 1987 are presented. The observational data are described in Riister (l994). VHF echoes at high latitudes in summer are known to be very strong. The observations were made from June 23 to June 29, centered around 86 km with a height interval of about 10 km. The zonal and meridional wind can be converted from radial velocities in six directions. Then zonal and meridional half-hour averaged wind time series can be derived by using the arithmetic mean every 30 min. The length of the series are then 364 at all heights.
