Abstract :
The author discusses a simple model which can be used to determine the dimensions of a slot antenna. This simple model can determine easily the width and the length at a given resonant frequency. It offers a good method to find the dimensions of a slot antenna by two-port transmission line theory. If the reflection coefficient is 1/3 in a two-port network, then the reflection in the CPW-fed slot antenna is zero. According to this rule and considering the extension length of the stub-end for a slot antenna, it is easy to find the dimension of the slot antenna at a given frequency. A longer slot length needs a wider slot width in a resonant condition. When the slot length is constant, the wider slot width will arise at the larger cross polarization level in the x-z plane.
