Abstract :
This paper proposes a conical patch array configuration for satisfying both structure and gain requirements of LEO satellite antennas. A synthesis approach based on element by element method for a non-planar conical array is presented. The radiation patterns as well as the array directivity are given and compared. It shows that if a well-focused beam is required, the phase shifter at each array element should be used for compensating the curvature effect.
