Abstract :
A method for the design of slot-line tapers for Vivaldi antennas is presented. A stepped quarter-wave Chebychev transformer is first designed in slotline, and then a smooth curve is fit to the steps. The validity of the method is verified through measurements of experimental designs for the 1 to 3 GHz range, with overall dimensions of 30.5 cm times 22 cm times 1.27 mm.
