Abstract :
The authors report the room temperature upconversion lasing of praseodymium doped fluorozirconate fibre at 491 nm, 520 nm, 605 nm, 635 nm and 715 nm. This is done using the two diode compatible infrared wavelengths of 1010 nm and 835 nm. An energy level scheme for the Pr3+ ion is shown
