Abstract
The optimal polarization null properties of the radar scattering matrix [S(A,B)] are investigated for the general bistatic asymmetrical case. The degenerate case for the non-reciprocal monostatic scattering matrix and the reciprocal, symmetrical monostatic scattering matrix cases are used to demonstrate the existing differences which affect monostatic versus bistatic measurement setups, as well as polarimetric target null signature interpretation.
