Abstract :
It was shown that multipath fading of an on-body channel can be characterized by a Rician distribution. The parameters of the Rican distribution for two on-body channels were extracted and their behavior during walking movement in an office and in an anechoic chamber was analyzed. It was shown that three independent parameters can be used to characterize the channel fading. Two of them can be obtained from rigorous electromagnetic modeling of the body alone, and the third from an indoor propagation model without the body.
