Abstract :
The dynamic evolvement process of nature can be classified into two types: quantitative change and logical reasoning. How to describe and resolve the problem of logical reasoning is very important in engineering application. The polychromatic sets theory (PST) is a new system theory and information processing tool and is suited to treat the logical reasoning problem. Based on the classification of polychromatic sets (PS) and the existing concept of union operation, the union operation of PS is rearranged seriously and illustrated accurately. The nature of union operation of PS is discussed and the possible engineering application methods are studied. The research results show the union operation of PS will help to obtain some new entities, corresponding to the technical solutions. This paper provides a solid theoretical foundation for the engineering application of union operation of PS in modeling and simulating manufacturing information system.
