            Abstract :
Mascot is a software development method which was originated with clear recognition of the real-life problems of large-scale software creation. It has for the most part attempted to address the problems through pragmatic means by defining a systematic representation of modularity and abstraction, and providing a virtual machine that supports these concepts during development and at run-time. Although not covering the entire development lifecycle. Mascot does provide a framework for what one might term an ´industrial´ production of software.<>
