Abstract
The use of an array of log-periodic dipole antennas for compact range illumination has been under investigation at Bradford University. A seven-element array has been built to demonstrate the principle and latest developments of the work are reported. The system has been demonstrated to have an excellent performance, giving a `quiet zone´ satisfying EMC criteria that is as wide as the aperture itself, compared with typically one-third of the width for a reflector antenna
