Abstract :
A low cost revealing system of GSM cellular phone operations aboard aircraft is proposed. Instead of conventional wireless sensor network or portable solutions, a leaky line antenna (LLA) is used as detection system. The localization is also performed starting from the difference between the received power at the LLA extremities. By the analysis of the first measurement results it can be stated that almost all mobile phone activities can be easily detected. As concern the localization of the unwanted sources, the LLA system represents a very good technology. This makes the proposed system a promising solution to cellular phone detection and localization in prohibited areas.
