Abstract :
Theory and analysis of the existence and stability of spatial solitons in one-dimensional semiconductor-dielectric nano-structures, such as thin semiconductor layers embedded in a dielectric material with much lower refractive index, are discussed and developed. On-site solitons centred at a single semiconductor layer and off-site solitons centred in-between two adjacent layers, are analysed for different geometries. Results show that exchange of stability properties of on-site and off-site TM solitons reveal enhanced mobility for structure parameters close to the critical period.
